Veteran of the Russian Drum and Bass scene Dissident brings us this nostalgic sounding EP, taking influence from the early sound of Dispatch Recordings, or labels such as Certificate 18.

Tucked away from the polished veneer and bright façade of the high street, behind the commercial fronts are hidden side streets, presenting the realness of the city.

Finding a comparison in this to underground drum and bass, just left of the mainstream, this EP shows off Dissident’s wide ranging influences and musical prowess.

From the atmospheric journey of Nightrain to the snarling synth line of Lost in the Plot, this EP is nostalgic tribute to those glimpses of the old city found in side streets.
